| Background: | The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary is an organization of citizens interested in supporting the goals and vision of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by providing service to its patients and staff. The Auxiliary works in conjunction with the QEH Foundation to fundraise and promote community awareness of the hospital, its function, and its needs.
The Auxiliary created this award to recognize a fourth year nursing student with outstanding bedside manner, accompanied by knowledge and skill in clinical practice, and not already receiving a scholarship of $1000 or more. The award is named after a longtime auxiliary member, Florence MacKenzie Roper, RN. Mrs. Roper had dedicated over 60 years of service to PEI and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliaries. |
