How do I reach someone on campus?

Searchable campus phone numbers and e-mail addresses are available at upei.ca. The Charlottetown telephone directory under University of Prince Edward Island lists phone numbers for all departments and ancillary services. For emergency situations contact UPEI Security Services at (902) 566-0384.

How does my son or daughter apply to UPEI?

For admission procedures, transfer credit from other institutions, or transferring to another program visit the Registrar's Office, call (902) 566-0439, or Apply Now.

How does my son or daughter obtain a UPEI Calendar?

Online Calendar or print copies are available at the Registrar’s Office (located downstairs in the Kelley Building) or at Student Services (2nd Floor North, W. A. Murphy Student Centre).

The Registrar's Office offers:

* information on course registration, student records, grades, confirmation of enrolment and graduation, permission for off-campus study, student appeals, and exam schedules.

* support in using the online registration system and a student’s secure WEB services.

How does my son or daughter make a financial inquiry or pay fees?

Contact the Accounting Office in the Kelley Building at (902) 566-0534 or online at Accounting.

How does my son or daughter apply for Entrance Scholarships?

All applicants to UPEI will be automatically considered for entrance awards if their application to UPEI is received by March 1. Other scholarships require an application form, and have their own application deadlines. Information and application forms are available at Scholarships, or contact your high school counsellor, or call (902) 566-0358.

Whom does my son or daughter contact if he/she requires financial assistance?

For financial aid information for students, visit Financial Aid or call our Student Financial Aid Office at (902) 566-4382. For information specific to a student’s loan application, please visit the PEI Student Financial Services Office or call (902) 894-2800.

How does my son or daughter obtain Tax Receipts for Tuition (T2202A)?

T2202A tax receipts are available at the Accounting Office at the end of February each year. For more information, contact the Accounting Office at (902) 566-0534.

Is there a banking facility on campus?

ATM machines are located outside the Bookstore in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, the lobby of Andrew Hall, the Robertson Library Breezeway, and the CARI Complex concourse.

Is there a library on campus?

The Robertson Library is located in the centre of campus, in front of the Atlantic Veterinary College. Hours generally include evenings and weekends, but please call to confirm or check online. To borrow materials, students need their UPEI ID card. Library notices are sent to UPEI e-mail accounts, which should be checked regularly. To contact the Library, phone (902) 566-0696.

At the Robertson Library, students can:

  • find information—including books and print periodicals (journals, magazines, and newspapers); electronic periodicals are available from the Library’s website
  • access technology—use the Library’s desktop computers to access library e-resources or surf the web, or sign out a laptop
  • get help—get immediate research assistance from friendly and knowledgeable library staff, attend a free E-info Lab or a course-specific presentation or workshop arranged by professors, or book a tour or research consultation
  • study—find or book space for quiet study or group work
Are there postal facilities on campus?

The mailroom on campus is located in the Utility Building, in front of the Classroom Centre, right next to Security Services.

Where will my son or daughter live at UPEI?

University students who live on campus during their first year have a greater likelihood of staying in university through to graduation. Plus it’s cost-effective and hassle-free, leaving more time to get the most out of their university experience. UPEI has three residences to choose from, with all-you-care-to-eat meal plans. For those who choose to live off-campus, Student Services maintains an off-campus housing list. And a bus pass for unlimited use on the Charlottetown Transit system is now included in student fees, making off-campus housing a more viable option for many students.
