Canadian Students ~ All Canadian students attending UPEI are eligible for health care services with proof of an active health card. Regardless of your provincial residency prior to attending UPEI, your medical care will continue to be covered by your home province. Prior to receiving medical/nursing services, you must present your active Provincial Health Care Card, often referred to as your “Medicare Card”. Should you not have a provincial health care card, you will be required to pay a minimal fee of $35.00 for your physician visit. A receipt will be given to you at this time and you can submit a “claim for payment” to your provincial care issuer at a later date.

International Students ~ To assist you in obtaining the most appropriate health care coverage, the International Student Plan provides both individual and/or family plans. Please refer to your International Student Health Care Plan booklet, or contact the Student Union at 566-0530.
