Our Mandate:

  • To nurture a learning and student centered environment that respects differences,  regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, culture, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies and life experiences.
  • To combat social isolation
  • To make UPEI a welcoming and inclusive learning and living environment.
  • To facilitate a change of perceptions that students may have of one another.
  • To build inclusion and cultural understanding.
  •  To improve community cohesion through social interaction and shared learning with the organization of events and information campaigns, workshops, guest speakers, and print and electronic media.
  • To promote better understanding by challenging perceptions and stereotypes about equity, inclusion, diversity, discrimination, and harassment.
  • To create opportunities for students to have fun and learn by exploring differences, commonalities and challenges.
